The adaptation from computer games to TV series is a beautiful scene in the practice of film and television industry in China. The TV series adapted from computer games has become a new member of TV drama genre. As of June 2017,there are 11 TV series including web series adapted from computer games, and the other 3 in production.Among them,Chinese Paladin series is the most representative.Since 2005,the series has maintained its vitality. There are 3 television dramas,1 internet drama, and the other 2 in production, occupying half of the market of game adaptation TV drama in China.Although Chinese Paladin series had hit a high record of high ratings and high reputation, the great controversies and discussions of game adaptation TV drama have never stopped. It is a dilemma between biasing players and biasing spectators in the selection of game adaptation content. This is also the core issue of this article. This article takes the games and TV series of Chinese Paladin series as the research object, uses the concept and paths of transmedia storytelling, and divides the research object into three transmedia storytelling stages from the time dimension.Prior to the discussion of research subjects, the F-MDA architecture(F-factory,M-mechanism,D-dynamic,A-aesthetics)was used to discuss why there was a cross-media phenomenon between games and TV dramas, and if the phenomenon is a flash in the pan,or it will continue to exist as a genre and form a growing trend.Later, through deconstructing the game elements of Chinese Paladin, and analyzing the text of TV dramas of the series found that there are many problems in game-related TV drama such as the breakdown of narrative logic, empty plots, and the collapse of character setting.Actually, the problem is derived from the different decoding systems between players and TV audiences, that is,it needs to start again from story and solve compatibility problems in fictional values between the story worlds of TV drama and game.In the end,the article combines the perspectives of Ludology and Postmodern Narratology. From the perspective of Ryan’s “Possible World Narratology” theory,it connects game-related TV drama with accessibility relations, and builds the ability to transpose the story world of games into the story world of TV series. It is a model that meets the fictional value of TV series—the Accessibility Model of Game-to-TV series Transmedia Storytelling—in order to propose an operational framework for transmedia storytelling from games to teleplays, which can be used in the playwriting of game-related dramas.
