As an emerging industry,online game has been expanding rapidly in a short time.In 2006,China’s online game market size was 7.78 billion yuan,in 2017,the scale of China’s online game market reached 65.3 billion yuan,total eleven years market scale has grown up to nine times,online game has become a globally important part of keeping pace with the music,film and television entertainment industry.The huge market also makes the online game market muddy,uneven quality.In view of this,this article selects the successful online game-the <Arena of Valor> do case analysis,from the perspective of narrative analysis of the successes and improvement,to provide reference for the development of online games.This article first chapter is the introduction part do to online game narrative research,points out that whether the online game can be narrated was disputed,but the online game has the characteristics of narrative is indisputable,and combing the development path of narrative provide strong theoretical support for the online game narrative,lay the foundation to the the narrative of the <Arena of Valor>;The second chapter analyzes the narrative contents of the <Arena of Valor>,and found that it has the feature of Eliminating the grand narrative and self-sufficient feature,narrative types from comedy into tragedy,and points out that the <Arena of Valor> has competition prototype,hero prototype,and the sexual prototype,summed up the prototype narrative aesthetic characteristics;The third chapter corresponding the general’s 31 role to each plot of the game,found the <Arena of Valor> has the structure of the binary opposition,and use Binary opposition theory points out that the players how to conversion in the opposite,create fullness,and sums up the aesthetic features of binary opposition structure;The fourth chapter points out that the biggest difference between the<Arena of Valor> and the traditional narrative text is "writable text",it is interactive and open,and expounding the aesthetic features of the interactive narrative are immersing and free;The conclusion is a further elaboration of the significance of the<Arena of Valor> for other online games.
