As one of the traditional forms of oral literature in China,the storytelling is characterized by both oral,narrative and performance,and it is still active in the form of prose narration.ShanTianFang is contemporary important storytelling artist in China.His works has had a huge impact.The Sui and Tang Dynasties is one of the representative works of ShanTianFang storytelling.This thesis is based on the audio and video data of The Sui and Tang Dynasties and analyies the formula,the typical scenes,performance means of The Sui and Tang dynasties.In the first chapter of this thesis,the formulaic expressions of The Sui and Tang Dynasties are discussed,including the characters' appearance program,the description program,the language behavior program and the cohesion statement program.These programs are not simple repetitions,have relatively flexible changes in stability,and traditional meanings behind the programs.The second chapter analyzes the typical scenes of The Sui and Tang Dynasties,including the assembly scenes,the armed scenes and the fighting scenes.The typical scene is the core of the story,which embodies the procedural characteristics of the oral narration at the structural level.The third chapter discusses the performance measures of The Sui and Tang Dynasties,including the level of sound elements and body language.ShanTianFang's The Sui and Tang Dynasties on the vision is vivid,fully embodies the storytelling's oral performance characteristics of the form.Consequently,this thesis stresses studying on modern Chinese storytelling in accordance with the dynamic performance and understanding the storytelling of narrative techniques based on oral literature's own characteristics and rules.
