| The present study mainly examines the related thought of the imperialist criticism and “Manchuria” colonialism of the Marxist Hosokawa Karoku by analyzing his collected works. What’s more, the contents of the two parts are compared to explain the change of his thoughts. This change is maily reflected in two aspects.Fist,in the 1920-1930 years, his criticism of imperialism was direct and thorough. However, his thought of the imperialist criticism does not change a lot in the articles about Japan’s Continental Policy in 1937 and the following essays of “Manchuria” colonialism. He mainly puts forward the solutions towards the problems in Japanese government’s foreign policy. It compared to his previous studies,Hosokawa’s thought is a kind of retrogression and compromise to some extent.Second,Yanayihara Tadao’s thought is more critical in some cases after comparing the “Manchuria” colonialism with the “Manchuria question” of Yanayihara Tadao, which is different from what Hosokawa called Yanayihara and other colonialist policy researchers as the spokesman of capitalism. The change of Hosokawa’s thought imply that the Marx doctrine at that time could not go beyond the boundaries of the state and turn to the other end.In China, there is little research about Hosokawa and only a few references have been made.Hosokawa has a unique view on imperialism and colonies, and it is also representative. In particular,Hosokawa was committed to the developement of the Sino-Japanese relationships after after the Second World War,making great contributions to the restoration of Sino-Japanese relations, which are worthy of learning. There are not many studies in Japan about Hosokawa and his thought of colonies,in which more praise the spirit of Sichuan’s opposition to militarism and imperialism based on Marx doctrine. On the basis of objectivity, the present study finds the changes of the thought of Hosokawa, and tries to analyze the background and the reason of the change. |
