With the development of science and technology and the popularization of smart phone,mobile dictionary APP has become an important helpful tool for foreign students to learn Chinese.In this paper,one hundred and twelve foreign students from the Yunnan normal University were investigated and interviewed deeply.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction which mainly introduces the reason,research status and research methods of this paper.The second part is the survey design and data analyzing of the using of APP in the foreign students' Chinese Export-Oriented Dictionary,including questionnaire designing and data analyzing,interview designing and data analyzing.The third part is about the problems existing in the using of Chinese Export-Oriented Dictionary APP.There are the following problems in objective aspects:Firstly,single query mode;Secondly,the application of multimedia information technology is insufficient;Thirdly,the much more language vocabulary is collected whereas the less professional vocabulary,idioms and network buzzwords are included;Fourthly,there is no part of speech tagging or incomplete tagging etc.The subjective problems are as follows: firstly,it is not comprehensive for foreign students to understand mobile dictionary APP.Meanwhile,there are some misunderstandings for them in the process of using the mobile dictionary;secondly,teachers cannot pay much attention and guide foreign students to using the App well.The fourth part is the suggestion of improving the application value of APP in Chinese export-oriented dictionaries.Firstly,in terms of mobile phone dictionary technology,we can update the vocabulary data in time,enrich the retrieval methods,enhance the interactive function and so on.Secondly,on the contents of the dictionary APP,we should try our best to perfect the collection of idioms,idioms,professional words and popular words on the Internet;establish a level system of part of speech,mark the whole word as part of speech.Thirdly,foreign students should make use the dictionary app effectively,and don't rely on dictionaries deeply..Finally,teachersshould pay attention to the role of mobile phone dictionary in the teaching process.Strengthen the guidance for foreign students to use mobile dictionary.
