The translation report is based on the translation of Walter the Lazy Mouse, which is children's literature written by American writer Marjorie Flack.Walter the Lazy Mouse tells a story about Walter a lazy mouse. This is a classic tale about adventure and friendship, revealing the importance of perseverance.Under the guidance of the three rules of skopos theory, the translator tries to translate Walter the Lazy Mouse from the children's view to satisfy the need of children to read foreign literature. At the lexical level,in order to meet the requirements of skopos rule, reduplicated words and onomatopoeic words have been used to make the translation version rhythmic. The target readers can understand the translation version in an easier way by using the exclamations, which are suitable for the development of children's cognitive and the characteristics of their language. At the syntactic level, coherence rule requires sentences to be fluent and suit for the characters of the novel. At textual level, the translator uses the language that children like to increase the little readers' interest. In this way,the translator makes it possible for the target readers to learn new things in an easier way.Anyway, the translator should choose proper translation methods to achieve intended purposes under the guidance of three rules of skopos.By writing the report, the translator aims to deepen the understanding of the translation strategies relating to the translation of children's literature and enhance the ability to solve practical problems in translation by using relevant theories and techniques. At the same time,it hopes that this paper somehow may contribute to the future development of the children's literature.
