The Literature Record And Study About The Willow Palisades In Qing Memoirs

The governors of Qing Dynasty built barriers with willow strips in Northeast China when Shunzhi and Kangxi emperors were on the throne.These governors built the barriers to protect their own special benefits.First,they adopted the policies that prevented different peoples especially Mongolian people,Chines and Manchus from contacting each other,That is to say,they executed a national apartheid policy.The Willow Palisades were made of two parts,The Old Willow Palisades extended from Shanhaiguan to Fenghuangcheng with a length 975 km.The New Willow Palisade was from Weiyuanpu to Fateha with a length 345 km.The Willow Palisades were built to give the Qing governors the privileges to use the local natural resources themselves.For example,they prohibited the Han people to hunt,pick,cultivate the virgin land outside the Willow Palisades.We study Qing Memoirs to research how and why the Willow Palisade were built,strengthened and abolished.Qing Memoirs are a great history writings,containing abundant information about Willow Palisades,which are cherished by many historians.The governors of Qing Dynasty take advantage of the Willow Palisades to protect the Manchu’s Riding and Shooting Cultures and maintain the long period of order and stability of Qing Dynasty.But with the changes of the world situation and the state in the Nineteenth Century,the prohibition policy ends in the Northeast of China,and the Willow Palisades end in the history.We study the literature about the Willow Palisades can provide us with abundant useful experienced lesson.My study is very important and meaningful.This paper consists of three parts.The first part presents the research method and research meaning of this paper.The second part make some research research to Qing Memoirs itself.The third part mainly contain abundant records about the Willow Palisades and make detail research to these records.This paper elaborate points of view clearly and centers on the main subject.Then this paper can finish the task on the research about the Willow Palisades literature in the Qing Memoirs completely.
