Screen Transadaptation: Perception and Reception is an academic paper written by Yves Gambier and published on The Translator in 2003.The paper illustrates the three fundamental issues in Audiovisual(AV)field:namely, the types of Audiovisual Translation(AVT),means of transadaptation and reception of audience. The author appeals to more people, either in teaching or academic research,to do more research on AVT.This report is written on the basis of translation practice of this paper. It analyses the problems occurred in the translation of terminology in the original text and provides some workable solutions by using some translation methods, which may hopefully offer some help to people who are studying or translating AVT texts. The report is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is a brief introduction to the project, including its background and significance.Chapter two presents the stages of preparation before translation and translation process. The preparation contains the collection of professional knowledge and the establishment of sense of terminology.Chapter three,as the main body of the report, offers some methods as solutions to terminology translation through analysis of some specific examples.Chapter four is a summary of this translation practice, pointing out that lack of professional knowledge is the main problem and providing some rules that should be kept in mind concerning the original text and the spirits of translators.
