Tiye was the Queen of Amenhotep? pharaoh,of the 18th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt,as well as the mother of Akhenaten,the heir to the pharaoh.Throughout the rule of these two pharaohs,she has always played a vital role.No matter what her identity was.Tiye exerted an important influence on domestic and foreign affairs of ancient Egypt.The thesis mainly discusses the impact of Tiye on the development of religion and diplomacy of 18th Dynasty in ancient Egypt.Tiye,as a female,entered the top of ancient Egyptian Power,and she was another female standing at the height of her power power after pharaoh Hatshepsut.Tiye discarded the accustomed way of previous Queen who always stood behind the pharaoh.Instead,she determined to attend diversified public activities with her husband,the pharaoh then.Thus she played an important part in the development of religion and diplomacy of the ancient Egyptian 18th Dynasty.In the religion field,Tiye,on the one hand,inherited the Egyptian tradition of polytheistic as the incarnation of Maat and Hathor Goddess,and attended all kinds of religious celebrations with her husband Amenhotep;on the other hand,she rendered a positive attitude to her son Akhenaten,who undertook the famous religion reform Amarna in history of ancient Egypt.After the Akhenaten moved the capital to Amarna,Tiye settled there as well.Also she participated in the ritual sacrifice to the Aten held by Akhenaten.In the field of diplomacy,especially the relationship between Egypt and Mitanni,Tiye also showed a positive role.In the region of Akhenaten,as the relationship between Egypt and Mitanni appeared some cracks,Hittite grew in so that Egypt and Mitanni have to reunite.However,an indifferent attitude of Akhenaten made the recover of their relationship full of difficulties.At the same time,Queen Tiye took a series of measures to put pressure on Akhenaten,and allied with the king of Mitanni Tushratta to make a great effort to rebuild the relationship between Egypt and Mitanni.
