Eliminating Disadvantages And Promoting Benefits:Research On Hydraulic Engineering Of Governments In Huaihe River Basin Since Ming And Qing Dynasties (1578-1998)

Since the Yellow River gone south to the Huaihe River,the Huaihe River system began to change and started to be affected by the Yellow River.The river was silted,the water was not flowing well,and the flood and drought disasters in the Huaihe River basin began to appear frequently.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,Pan Jixun,JinFu and others built hydraulic engineering,mainly for the purpose of eliminating the disadvantages.Although the Yellow River and the Huaihe River flowed quietly during a short period of time,on the whole,all engineering is in terms of protection of the canal,not only failed to eliminate the disasters,but also aggravated the flood disasters in the middle and lower reaches of the Huaihe River,resulting in more poverty for people in Huaihe River basin.In the period of the Republic of China,due to the war and insufficient funds,the real effect of the hydraulic engineering was very small.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,the central government attached great importance to the management of the Huaihe River and setting up a scientific and reasonable guideline for water control,which would combine water control and production,coordinate the relationship between the central and local governments and unite to control the water.After 50 years of governance,the government built a great deal of hydraulic engineering to reduce disasters,mainly for the purpose of eliminating the disadvantages in the Huaihe River basin.The engineering system of flood control and waterlogged,irrigation,power generation,transport,aquaculture was formed.It achieved remarkable social and economic benefits,promoted the recovery and development of the economy of the Huaihe River basin,and improved people's living standards.The time period is from Pan Ji xun harnessing in the Ming dynasty in 1578,to the water channel of Huaihe River to build in 1998.The thesis uses eliminating disadvantages and promoting profits as an entry point From the background,motivation,scale and characteristics of engineering construction,and impact on the economic,political,and social.aspects of the Huaihe River basin,I research on hydraulic engineering of governments in Huaihe River basin.It will explain more rationally the social changes in the Huaihe River basin during four hundred years,to provide inspiration and reflection to the current social development,also leave valuable experience for the current water conservancy.
