The world changes so fast like a fleeting time.An artist cannot see the hidden abstraction behind a concrete image without keen observation and discrimination. In the history of art, sensationalism, deliberate imitation and artistic exhibitionism are meaningless abstractions that are often easily forgotten.Agnes Martin is an artist between Abstract Expressionism and Minimal Art.The male-dominated Art in New York had a place and a great influence in foreign countries from 1950 s to 1960 s.From the age of 30 he decided to become an artist and he never stopped pursuing and exploring abstract art til the end of life.In the face of the problems of commercialization, political overtones and simple imitation in contemporary Chinese abstract art,the paper attempts to review our lack of Abstract Painting methodology and put forward some suggestions of development and continuation of paintings through the analysis of Agnes Martin's abstract artistic spirit. On basis of the study of Agnes Martin's abstract art,the author tries best to make some insignificant contributions to further research. The full text is mainly:1.The background of Agnes Martin's abstract art and the introduction to his life;2.Analysis of the evolution of her painting style throughout her artistic career in connection with representative works by Agnes Martin during various artistic periods;3.A detailed study of the main spiritual sources of the evolution of the style of Agnes Martin and the exploration of Martin's own artistic conception;4.Through in-depth research on the creative forms and expressions of Agnes Martin, the author summarizes their enlightenment and guidance for contemporary abstract art and provides important suggestions and theoretical references for the development of Chinese abstract art.
