Realism is the main trend of Chinese literature in the 1980s.The Chinese literature of this period benefited from the reform and opening up and the ideological emancipation.It began to return to the literary tradition of the "54" people.While inheriting the realistic spirit of criticism and fighting,which was created by the "54" literature,it expanded and deepened realism from the aspects of creative ideas and methods of creation.The adaptation of literary works is the common choice of many famous directors in 1980s,especially the fifth generation directors,facing the real life,reinterpreting the spiritual connotation of realism with an unprecedented exploration spirit,exploring the artistic techniques of realism boldly,expanding the scope of the works and deepening the works.The ideological connotation and the artistic form of the works have enriched the development of Chinese films.At the same time,the rush of film creation has opened up new space and new experience for the development of literary creation.Zhang Junzhao's "one and eight",Huang Jianxin's "black gun" and Kaige Chen's "the king of children" have made efforts and contributions to the return,expansion and deepening of the realism in 1980s in their own ways.The exploration of the concept of film and the innovation of image means in"one and eight",especially the call for reality and human nature,are the return to the spirit and method of realism.Behind its absurdity,the black artillery event is deep and rational realistic thinking,its artistic methods and means,as well as the profound realistic view,are the expansion of the traditional realism.The children's King's reflection and criticism on history and culture reflect the rare depth of the contemporary Chinese films and deepen the meaning of realism.
