This paper has studied the rheological features and causes of image creation in the Queen Mother costume in Chinese costume drama.Based on the perspective of feminism,it is divided into three stages,extracting the characteristics and changes of the image of Queen Mother at different stages,and revealing the cultural factors behind them,from the time dimension and the appearance sequence of typical TV dramas.Based on the characters' typicality and space considerations,this research mainly focuses on the analysis of characters in ancient costumes such as Wu Zetian,Xiaozhuang,Dowager Cixi,and so on.This study is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,which outlines the research object and framework,and sorts out the relevant literature.It specifically defines the "Taihou"(Queen Mother)as the study object,which means that it has considerable political energy and become the Queen Mother finally but not only refers to females who have Queen Mother status,then sorts out related research literature.The second part analyzes the Fixation Period(1980-1999),during which the costume dramas are filled with obvious perspective from male rights.The image of Queen Mother is "symbolicized" as a binary opposition between good and evil,and the watershed is whether the feminine role obeys its "second nature".In this "rule of male authority",the Queen Mother had self-disciplined his gender identity,and in their obedience to power identity,they implemented their own gender identity from suspicions,to resistance and to compromise.The third part is to analyze the phase of change(2000-2010),at this stage,feminist thinking gradually entered the costume drama,and the original thick male perspective was gradually diluted,and the feminist female subject consciousness began to reawaken.The image of Queen Mather from the perspective of women emerged as a manifestation of the rise of feminine consciousness in film and television works,and the image of Queen Mater as a woman is more abundant,highlighting the subjective awareness of women's independence.The fourth part is to analyze the variation stage(2011 to date).With the continued development and spread of feminist ideas,film and television works based on women have become more and more abundant,and the images of Queen Mater appearing in costume dramas have become more and more colorful.Although men and women are equal legally and women are respected,and the feminism seems to have been accomplished,but from the charming appearance to the attachment and dependence on male characters,people faintly feel that this is a kind of mental presupposition for men who appreciate and consume women.Under the cover of consumerism,the essence behind the "Romanticized" image of Queen Mother might be the recovery of malelism and the difficult advancement of feminism.Finally,in order to sum up,the conclusion has reviewed the thinking and context of the entire study,and summarized the evolutionary process of the image-building of the "Queen Mother" as a female in the costume drama.The image of Queen Mother gradually has evolved from the shackles of the patriarchal ideology,into a three-dimensional,plump,and personalized woman.However,there is still a variation of male dominance behind this.The genuine independence of feminism on the screen may still be a long way to go.
