| "Develop the country through science and education" requires comprehensive implement of science and technology as first productivity.Education should be regarded as the foundation for developing science and technology.Under these circumstances,"teacher as researcher" has become an inevitable trend of modern professional development of teachers.In the context of educational reform,schools and teachers are bound to face practical problems of teaching and learning.To solve these problems,teachers should carry out scientific research actively.The teachers’educational research qualities directly affects their scientific research,which is an effective way to find their professional happiness.It is both responsibility and obligation for teachers to engage in educational research.This paper mainly investigates and analyzes teachers’ scientific research qualities in Heze City Mudan District,which reveals the current situation and problems.Then suggestions and strategies are made to promote the teachers’ educational research qualities.Specifically,there are the following three points.First,explore the connotation of high school English teachers’ scientific research qualities.Second,comprehend the current situation of teachers’ scientific research qualities in Heze City Mudan District and analyze influential factors.Third,propose constructive strategies to promote teachers educational research qualities.The results show that,high school English teachers in Heze City Mudan District generally recognize the importance of educational researches,and are willing to participate in educational researches.However,they lack proactive actions.Teachers do not update their knowledge regularly,and they have limited comprehension for educational research knowledge and methods.Teachers generally lack the capacity of doing educational researches,especially the ability to evaluate scientific research,to choose research methods and to write normative research reports.Obstructions of teachers’ educational research are heavy teaching burden,lack of time,lack of research methods,lack of discussion groups and lack of recognition and support from leadership.n and support,did not grasp the lack of research methods and can discuss groups.The interviews of teachers confirm and explain the result of statistical analysis.To solve the problems above,suggestions are proposed.For teachers,they have to combine their teaching practice with educational research and improve their educational research abilities.For school leaders,they should attach great importance to educational research,increase the input of fund,strengthen the guidance and advocate for teachers to form learning communities.I hope that this research can really help high school English teachers to improve their educational research qualities. |
