The Confucius Institute is a promotion organization for Chinese and Chinese culture.Since its establishment on November 21,2004,it has always been committed to the promotion of Chinese and Chinese culture.In the 21 st century where globalization and China's international status have risen unprecedentedly,the Confucius Institute has become a new force in the promotion of Chinese language.Starting earlier,the development course of the Goethe-Institut and Instituto Cervantes,which are also the linguistic and cultural promotion agencies,will undoubtedly have implications for the development of the Confucius Institute Online.The 21 st century is the age of the Internet,and people can meet their needs for work,study,shopping,and friends in the Internet without leaving home.This also opens the door to a new world for the promotion of language and culture.It is both an opportunity and a challenge.In this regard,while we are innovating independently,we must draw lessons from the experience of similar institutions or successes or failures in order to better promote the promotion of Chinese and Chinese culture.The Confucius Institute Online established by Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban was launched in March 2008.After 10 years of development,a relatively complete Chinese international promotion platform has gradually formed,but there is still a lot of room for growth.This article compares Confucius Institute Online with similar language and cultural promotion websites such as Goethe-Institut website and Instituto Cervantes website through content analysis method,observation method,website evaluation theory,and analyzes similarities and differences in language communication and cultural promotion.On this basis,it is hoped to provide suggestions for the construction of the website of the Confucius Institute Online so that it can make a better contribution to the Chinese language and Chinese culture to the world.This article has mainly done the following aspects of work:Firstly,clarified the topic and meaning of this article,the research object and research methods.Secondly,referring to the three teaching website evaluation standards that are currently influential: the Niu Yan standard,the American online learning certification standard,Kelli Boklaschuk,Kevin Caisse standard,and combined with the particularity of the language culture promotion website and the research topic of this paper,and put forward a set of evaluation criteria.Thirdly,according to the items in the proposed evaluation criteria,various indicators of the Confucius Institute website,the Goethe-Institut website and the Instituto Cervantes website were analyzed and corresponding conclusions were drawn.Finally,combined with the analysis results,some suggestions are put forward for the future development of the Confucius Institute Online website.
