The Application Of Chinese Zodiac In Derivative Products

Science and technology is the lifeblood of the country while culture is the soul of the nation.As a precious cultural heritage of China,the twelve Chinese zodiac signs plays an important role in traditional Chinese culture.Zodiac design reveals different visual patterns in every period.With the development of the times,people’s aesthetic experience begins to change.So zodiac design needs show people its brand-new appearance,that is,advance with the times.Viewing the twelve Chinese zodiac signs as the design object,this paper reconstructs and redesigns the twelve zodiac signs by extracting the graphic elements of the original image and using the basic design method.To achieve satisfactory result,it creates new visual images of the zodiac signs which are different from the innate forms in people’s mind.Also,it demonstrates the integration of traditional culture and modern aesthetic and stimulates different effects of performance to show the twelve Chinese zodiac signs,which is meaningful and challenging.In the paper,the Chinese zodiac images are recombined mainly through transformation,reorganization and imagination,At the end of the paper,it promotes traditional culture of Chinese zodiac by transforming the elements of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs into derivative cultural products and realizing the innovation and integration of the traditional and modern art design.So people living in modern society will re-recognize and understand Chinese zodiac and are called on to pay more attention and inheritance to Chinese traditional culture.
