As an important image of children's literature,"Family" maintains the depth and breadth of children's literature.Since the 20th century, the "family" in reality has undergone a revolutionary change. With the change of family reality and childhood status,The family image in children's literature also gradually changed.Writers have acutely captured the complexities of "family" and performed their works.Among them,The exploration of the "family" of Lois Lowry who American children's literature writer is unique."Family" is the object that Lowry has always been interested in tracing and writing.Lowry conducted a pluralistic writing of her family, mainly manifested in the subversion of the traditional family, the writing of de-jaissance,and the construction of the ideal family. While presenting the diverse face "family" Lowry also created a unique paternity and parental image in the novel. This unique parent-child relationship is both ideal and abnormal. In a double perspective of praise and criticism,Lowry expressed her hope of a healthy and beautiful parent-child relationship.Lowry created fictional parents, mostly in absence and dislocation, did not lead to the absence of parental roles or functions.Lowry made up for the absence of parents by further introducing a series of alternatives. In the construction of the "home",Lowry conveyed the thinking of the culture, history, ideology, power and other issues behind the metaphor of the "home" by means of changes in space. In the physical space, the dominant one is mainly the parents, while the children's behavior is influenced and controlled by the family ideology. In the psychological space, children make use of the construction of a secret space to revolt family order and ideology. In the social space,"home" is reduced to a product of community space, and "home" is only a ceremonial existence under the operation of community politics and power."Family" is an important place for children to build their own identity. In his novels,Lowry argues the relationship between individual identity and collective identity.First, the child's self-identity is established by getting along with his family.Second, individual identity does not exclude collective identity, but only if the individual is truly present can the group become meaningful. In children's literature,"family" is an important proposition for continuous improvement.Lowry's writing of "family" enriches the writing of "family" in children's literature and also provides an important reference and enlightenment for the writing of "family" in contemporary children's literature.
