Research On Chinese Numismatic Euphemism

The Chinese numismatic euphemism,in order to meet the requirements of the social political and cultural life,meet the needs of a group organization and even all members of the society,when the communicative parties express the meaning of the coin,the speaker does not speak "the money" but uses the metaphor and metonymy means to create words in a targeted way under the premise of ensuring that the listener can understand.However,there has not been a thorough and systematic study on the Chinese numismatic euphemism.This paper combines diachronic analysis and synchronic description,the author seeks to explore the overall evolution of numismatic euphemism through describing and summarizing the use of the numismatic euphemism in different periods of Chinese language,and from the perspective of its causes and structural reasons.According to the scope of reference,the author divids the euphemisms collected into collective numismatic euphemism and specific numismatic euphemism.There are 31 general Chinese numismatic euphemism.According to the naming sources of euphemisms,it is divided into coin shape categories,historical records,personal names,and other categories.There are 33 specific numismatic euphemism,based on the classification of coins and coinage materials,they are divided into gold,silver and copper coins and euphemisms for paper currency.All euphemisms are mainly based on their chronological order,with sequences of sequence and semantics as an aid.From the perspective of diachronicity,the author describes the actual use cases of each word in different dynasties and sort out the individual development history of coins and euphemisms.It is divided into three categories:ancient general class words,ancient and morden general class words and morden general class words.And the number of ancient general class word is the largest.At the synchronic level,the author applys cognitive linguistics theory to analyze the structural arguments of Chinese numismatic euphemism,Of the euphemisms collected,52 are produced by metonymy and 12 by metaphorical forms.The concreteness of coin itself is the most important factor in Metonymy making.At last,taking sociolinguistics and cultural linguistics as theoretical support from the three angles:politics,economy and culture,this paper analyzes the specific causes of Chinese coin euphemisms.Promote the ancient continuation of the stressing agriculture danping business policy and the ancient literati value justice above material gains which produces a lot of ancient numismatic euphemism.Through the study of the use of Chinese numismatic euphemisms to study the cultural perspectives embodied in them,the use of Chinese numismatic euphemisms can not only reflect traditional Chinese philosophical thoughts,but also reflect people’s diametrically opposite attitudes toward money.In addition,according to the specific use cases of the coin euphemism,the author sums up the speaker’s slamming of politics,satire social psychology,maintaining self-esteem,avoiding embarrassing psychology and the pursuit of elegance,to follow the trend of the psychology.
