In September and October,2013,president Xi Jinping put forward the importance of jointly building the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road"(hereinafter referred to as "OBOR")during his visit to Central Asia and Southeast Asian countries. With the advocate,China tries to construct a new mode of economic growth that is different from the traditional regional cooperation system. At present, the domestic economic development has entered into new normal phase and the economy is under downward pressure.Expanding foreign cooperation will help boost domestic economic growth. At the same time,as a big country,China will take the initiative to establish a framework for cooperation.More than 60 countries participated in it and the worldwide cooperation will promote global economic development. The connectivity of policy, infrastructure, trade, finance and people is the key for cooperation. As a major cooperative country,China plays a decisive role in the overall system of the "One Belt and One Road",especially in the trade structure. As mentioned in the strategy.People are the social foundation for the "Belt and Road" project.Friendly humanistic exchanges are the strategic and fundamental propositions that give priority to economic and trade cooperation.Language is the soul of communication.Language barrier, ambiguity and misunderstanding can all create barriers to communication and reduce communication efficiency, thereby increasing the mistrust of all parties involved in trade and increasing the uncertainty and cost of transactions. Therefore,an in-depth study on the relationship between trade and language help put forward post-phase policy of the "Belt and One Road" strategy. Therefore, this article takes the "Belt and Road" area as the main research area, and explores the impact of "trade facilitation" and "linguistic distance" on trade flows, which is of academic and practical significance.Based on the comprehensive review of the existing literature in chapter two,the paper first sorts out the development of the "One Belt and One Road" strategy in chapter three, and analyzes the countries and languages covered by “OBOR”.Then,In the fourth chapter, from the qualitative point of view, the paper starts from the connotation of "language",and studies the potential mechanism of language and trade flow according to relevant theories and models.Chapter 5 focuses on quantitative analysis. This paper applies three dimensions to quantify, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various quantitative methods.Based on the quantitative results in chapter 5,the trade gravity model is introduced in chapter 6 to study the relationship between language and trade flows.Based on the results of the model, the paper put forward the corresponding feasible suggestions in the last chapter.
