| Miao pu cemetery is an ancient cemetery at Liaoyang city excavated by Liaoning Province Institute of Archeology from 2008 to 2015.It consisted of over three hundred tombs of the Han,Wei,Jin dynasties,which covered a large scale and is scientifically excavated in Liaoning province.The tombs at Miao pu cemetery distributed concentratedly with different constructures and abundant burial objects,which provided a complete sequence of tombs from Western Han danasty to Jin dynasty.In this paper,we took a typical as research focus,trying to get a tomb sequence of the Han,Wei,Jin dynasties by synthesizing the analysis of tomb typology and funerary objects.Further,a primary analysis of the sequential development of tombs was conducted for a further research about the social and cultural exchanges in Liaoyang,eastern Liaoning province and Northeastern Liaoning province in the Han,Wei,Jin dynasties.Firstly,all tombs were divided into two categories based on the constructure: vertical cave with outer coffin and horizontal cave with tomb road.Then,five subcategories were set up by the constructure materials: pit,brick outer coffin,stone outer coffin,brick chamber and stone chamber.Secondly,different types were divided according to the presence or absence of cultural relic tables.Thirdly,tombs with stone rooms were grouped into single chamber,double chamber and multi chambers,and the last group were divided into three sub-groups and eight sub-types according to the location of cultural relic tables.Typical potteries were selected from funerary objects for typological analysis.Tombs of the Han,Wei dynasties from Miao pu cemetery were divided into 10 groups combine the analysis of tomb constructure and funeral burials.Each group was dated according to the comparative analysis with archaeological remains with exact date and they were roughly divided into seven periods and nine stages.By analyzing the tombs of each period and their historical background,we discussed the sequential development of the tombs at Miao pu cemetery and the relationship of ancient cultures between eastern Liaoning province and the Central Plain region. |
