The Discussion Of Sonata Form Applying To The Piano Sonata By Hummel’s

Johann Nepomuk Hummel(1778-1837)is a famous composer,pianist and conductor in Austria.He studied music with Mozart and Haydn,and he was a competitor with Beethoven.He influenced Schumann,Chopin,Liszt and other musicians.He is an important bridge connecting classical and romantic era.Sonata form is the inevitable outcome of the peak of Western art music,and the important form of sonata since the classical period.This paper,based on the sonata music of Hummel’s 6 piano sonata,using the method of combining music history and the analysis of composing techniques,summarizes the characteristics of the research object and compares it with the historical development.The paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is about the background and development of Hummel,his Piano Sonata and sonata form.The second chapter is the ontological analysis of the subject investigated.The third chapter,based on the second chapter,summarizes the inheritance and development of the composer’s sonata form from thematic features,tonal layout and harmony techniques.It abstracts Hummel’s musical style and contrasts with the style of the times.Finally,it establishes its role and historical status in the development of music.Hummel’s Sonata movement is based on the classical composing techniques in the classical period,and has the characteristics of the romantic era.The classical style in his works is embodied in the terminating form of the classical style,the functional harmony,the discreet discordant chord,the functional main and the secondary department,the reappearance of the reappearance department and the relevance of the main and the vice subject.The romantic style of his works is reflected in the abundance of harmonized vocabulary,the incomplete return of the reappearance department,the change of the theme inside,the expansion of the theme structure,the unfolding character of the tail,the material diversity in the same theme and so on.The foundation of Hummel’s works is the basic framework of the classical era,which is not completely in line with the aesthetic needs of the romantic era,and is hard to be accepted by people at that time.Even so,Hummel still plays an important role in the history of music.Hummel’s musical works inherit the experience of his predecessors,highlight the creative characteristics of the individual,and provide more choice and inspiration for the later composers,and become an important "bridge" in the transition of the times.
