An Analysis Of Discourses About Family Language Violence

Verbal abuse is a common problem in social life.This phenomenon is often neglected because of its concealment and privacy.There are no legal or moral constraints on it.As a kind of violent behavior,verbal abuse in family is easy to hurt people both in psychology and spirit.At present,there are few studies focus on language forms and communication strategies of verbal abuse.This study aim at explore the violence discourse of verbal abuse in family,analyze its manifestation and structure.I use questionnaire survey,interview method and online retrieval to start my research.First,through the questionnaire survey,we can know the present situation of family verbal abuse;we also can know the cognition and attitude of people on this problem.Second,through the investigation and retrieval online,I find kinds of violent language.Finally,I try to explore the thoughts and psychology behind the words.Through the investigation and analysis,we can find that the violent language can divided into explicit and implicit.Its form is very rich,including derogatory words,comparative sentences,negative sentences,rhetorical sentences,hypothetical sentences etc.In addition,communication strategies,such as avoidance,silence and neglect,may lead to conflict in the course of natural conversation,which may leads to the emergence of language violence.At last,the article discusses thoughts and mentalities reflected by the violent language,such as "fight good-for-nothing" "good for you" education concept,patriarchal ideology,a" rebellious" " face "" giant baby"mentalities.
