A Study On The Life-time Temple In The Song Dynasty

The life-time temple is a unique phenomenon of sacrifices,offering for the living makes it different from the traditional religious temples.At present,the research on the life-time temple has not formed a complete system.The study of it is often mixed in the macroscopic religious belief or the microcosmic study of temple.The theme of this paper is " A Study on the Life-time Temple in the Song Dynasty ",regards the life-time temple as a complete cultural topic,analyzes it's cultural and literary nature separately,and focuses on the Song Dynasty.The thesis has a detailed demonstration on the concept,category and establishment process of the life-time temple.It describes and collects all the notes in The Complete Works of Song,tries to review the cultural phenomenon of the life-time temple in the Song Dynasty.It sums up the emotional tendencies to the heroes and the traditional value to the elites.Finally,the cultural influence and significance of the life-time temple are explored,in order to provide reference for the research on the culture.This article is divided into five chapters.The introduction summarizes the cultural phenomenon of the life-time temple,and briefly describes the research value and purpose.The first and second chapter focuses on the " life-time temple ".The three and four chapter details the " life-time temple in the Song Dynasty ",and the fifth chapter summarizes the influence.The first chapter sorts out the concept of the life-time temple,including the origin,nature and regulation.It focuses on distinguishing the relationship between the life-time temple and the legal temple and the illegal temple,introduces the standards and procedures of the temple in the law.The second chapter takes the Song Dynasty as the dividing point to narrate the development trend before and after the Song Dynasty.Looking at the overall style of the life-time temple,we could grasp the general situation of it.The third chapter is the literature analysis,systematically analyzing the life-time temple in the Song Dynasty.There are 139 records in The Complete Works of Song,including 123 owners and 148 temples.The author collates the builders,the records,the sacrifices,the temple sites and the articles,which are summed up as five sections of the Song Dynasty's life-time temple owners,the distribution of the life-time temples,the tendency to build the life-time temple,the narrators and the writing styles.Based on the analysis of a large number of local historical data,this paper tries to outline the development prospect of the Song Dynasty's life-time temple.The fourth chapter explores the values of the life-time temple in the Song Dynasty.For the purpose of gratitude,people praised the heroic behavior of the temple owners,prayed for the asylum,and then evolved into the "heroism" worship of the whole society and formed a new folklore legend.The characters of the life-time temple completed the transformation from "man" to "half godf".The fifth chapter studies the influence and significance of the life-time temple,analyzes the influence of the inheritance and the phenomenon of the transformation from belief to folk custom.The conclusion summarizes the viewpoints of each chapter and points out the shortcomings of this article.
