Reality And Illusion:Self-seeking Through Media Space

Media influence our senses,reordering our understanding of the world and organizing our social space.The influence of contemporary media on social space has created a broader 'ritual space of the media'.In music-related media fields,it is most often embodied in'idols' and their performing arts activities.The 'fandom' groups generated in association with idols are typical affected by media rituals.This article uses the ritual space constructed by the media as a research perspective to link pop music and media research.After the introduction of the background and combining media cases,the author analyzed film and television theme songs,commercial advertisement songs and media rituals,revealed the musical activities and fans'behavior.After the analysis,the interpretation of the impact of media ritual space and music on the fandom was extended.The last part draws how Johnnys has injected the traditional thoughts into the packaging process of idol music.To promote their own culture and attract people to participate in the inheritance.We have come to the conclusion that the fantasies are constructed through media space and how the fans find cultural representations that can express themselves and form an identity.Through studying the fans' activities of the music group from Johnnys,we observed the acceptance and reaction of idol music,analyzed the changes and development of individuals in the media rituals.By adopting new research perspectives and methods,we propose different answers and new understandings to the classical issues of ethnomusicology.At the same time,we can find insights and methods that are worth learning for the protection of Chinese traditional culture heritage and the development of cultural industries.
