Research On The Meaning And Interest Of Chinese Character Font Design

As a language carrier and cultural symbol,Chinese characters have gone through millennia-old inheritance and development.Taking a wide view on this long process of evolution,changes of time and the progress of science and technology enable the development of the font style of Chinese characters have repeatedly leaps,starting from the prehistoric text,oracle-bone inscriptions,inscriptions on bronze,seal calligraphy,official script,running hand,regular script,through Song typeface,Art fonts in the period of the Republic of China,to the current computer font.The advancement of civilization and the progress of society have boosted to promote the development and propagation of the visual culture symbol system,and also enriched the system of Chinese character symbols,at the same time,the development of computer technology impelled the expressive form of the font design further enriched and diversified.The function of fonts is no longer limited to the recording language,but more emphasis is put on information and emotional communication.The subjective feelings and strong interest implicated in the visual form of this type of Chinese character font unconsciously influencing people’s way of thinking and ideas,this type of font design is pursued and admired by modern designers,the appearance of its font design also enriched the system of Chinese character font design,and the expression enthusiasm and cultural confidence of graphic designers are enhanced.Although some interesting Chinese character font designs have been recognized by the society and gradually form the font design trend,however,the aesthetic taste as a theoretical support is the missing part in the research of Chinese character font design… The interesting and aesthetic use of Chinese character fonts flexibly and the exploration and speculation of the problem of integration under different contexts and backgrounds,is becoming a problem that we have to confront and explore in desperate need.
