The Gu Huapin Lu Textual Criticism And Commentaries

Xie He’s Gu Hua Pin Lu(Notes Concerning The Classification of old Paintings),one important work of Chinese Pictorial Art,has become fundamental historical sources,on the base of which we can comprehend Chinese art history of Weijin period.The whole editions of Gu Hua Pin Lu which are still extent today are not reliable enough.Therefore its understanding is frequently formal biased and even mistaken.Actually,the studies on this work have nothing good or unusual to report.Through doing textual criticism,this thesis attempted to analyze some fundamental problems of Gu Hua Pin Lu,such as the lifetime about the author,the time when it completed,the relation of some existing editions,as well as the studies about this book from ancient to modern,from China to foreign countries.
