The Survey And Research On Diversity Of Pipa In Shannbei Storytelling

The bent-necked Pipa in the Pipa Storytelling of Shaanbei is played by the local blind man in the r itual.According to my fieldwork,Pipa are all handmade by the local people with diverse forms an d various string materials which attracted my attention about its diversity.From the interview and study of less than 8 Pipa players^?1?,the music and the diversity embodied in the belief system are re vealed.Located in the combination inside and outside of the the Great Wall,Shaanbei connects the Centra l Plains and the western regions and provided the interaction between nomadic and farming civiliz ation which makes its geography and history very special.Therefore,the form and fixed string of t he existing Pipa in Shaanbei are taken as a subject,and the phenomena of the bent-necked Pipa in the Pipa storytelling of Shaanbei can be understood in the regional cultural interaction.
