Michael Jackson is the most influential artist in pop music and pop culture in the second half of the 20 th century.His music,dance works and artistic spirit have extensive and profound influence on popular music in and after the 80 s and 90 s and even new generation artists in various fields.The research of this thesis is to analyze the music style formed by the combination of music ontology and various music methods which used in Michael Jackson's music works.It also make a more in-depth interpretation of the uniqueness of the works that have strong influence in the history of American popular music.One of the missions of this thesis is Re-cognize and position Michael Jackson's musical identity and the artistic value of his work more objectively,and eliminate existing prejudices and misunderstandings of his artwork.This dissertation focuses on the musical text of the works,from the earliest sources of Michael Jackson's music style and the influence of other older artists on him,also discriminates and analyzes the development and transformation of the music methods that used in the later stages of his artistic career.Meanwhile,the topics and lyrics included in his musical works were included in the scope of the study,this dissertation consult the cultural background,the life experience,the psychology mood and other historical society angle carries on the thorough exploration,unscrambles its style change reason.The conclusion of the study is: in different periods,Michael Jackson's musical methods and artistic styles have different characteristics.There are some connections between the different stages,but the changes are also very dramatic.Behind this series of style changes,The main reason is the influence from the artists of the previous generation in the era of macro-art environment,his pursuit of new artistic creation methods and presentation techniques and his life experiences and mentality changes at different times.
