| Chinese culture has a long history and full of spoken and written language.It is an unique culture.Idiom is a treasure in Chinese culture,it is not only the main component of vocabulary in language,but also carrying more characteristics in Chinese cultural.Idioms have generality which structure is stable.The number of Chinese idioms is very huge.And it has rich connotations and the form is unique(generally it consists in four words).The features make foreign students interested in learning Chinese idioms.Therefore it has been the important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language(especially the advanced teaching).In the International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education Common Chinese Words and Phrases for Level Six which has small amount of idioms.However,according to the actual situation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,idioms teaching did not get enough attention.Teaching materials about idioms are less,and the amount is small in the Words and Phrases for Level Six.The arrangement of idioms’ level is not reasonable.And idioms teaching research is relatively insufficient which needs us to do further explore.This article is divided into five parts:The first part summarizes the significance,research status and research methods of idioms.The second part analyzes the ontology of idioms from three aspects: definition,characteristics and source.The third part firstly analyzes the idioms’ number、types and sources which from the International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education(here in after referred to as the Curriculum)Common Chinese Words and Phrases for Level Six.We found that the number of idioms is small.The types and sources are simple.Secondly,we count the idiom frequency in modern Chinese corpus and use the frequency to analyze the commonality and practicability of Level Six idioms.Also we use the frequency as a basis of teaching suggestion.The fourth part we collect relative corpora and analyze the usage and errors in HSK dynamic composition corpus through "string" retrieval methods.In order to get more comprehensive corpora,we also use "full search" to collect corpora about other idioms,and analyze the usage and errors.This chapter analyzes the usage,errors and types of the idioms which from Common Chinese Words and Phrases for Level Six.This is helpful to understand the situation of foreign students using idioms in practical situations.The fifth part is based on the analysis of the previous four parts,which suggests teacher should diversify the teaching content and teaching methods.Hope the students not only learn idioms but also study Chinese culture and enjoy their Chinese classes.Secondly,the students should make full use of their subjective initiative to create environment for learning language.Finally we give the suggestions about idiom content and arrangement for Curriculum level arrangement.Hope the Curriculum’s types of idioms are more diversify,and balance each level distribution of idioms.According to the Chinese character level we made a list about idioms level.Hope students can learn idioms step by step. |
