A Study On The Art Concept Of The American Analytical Aesthetics School

Since Hegel defined aesthetics as "philosophy of Art",art has become the most valuable dimension of aesthetics,and also become the research core of aesthetics.American analytical aesthetics has been well-renowned since the mid-20 th century in the world,whose linguistic analysis provides new thought and direction for art issues and creates a new school of aesthetics.It depends on its advantages in analysis to open a new route in analytical aesthetics and climbs to the peak of this circle.Among all the aestheticians,Morris Weitz,Monroe C.Beardsley,Nelson Goodman,Arthur.C.Dantoare,George Dickie,Jerrold Levinson well known for their unique art concept,drawing the world attention and showing themselves on the world stage.They have become the pillar and power of this field.The art concept on the American analytical aesthetics is the most representative theory and lays a solid theoretical foundation for the pioneer art.They both are complementary to each other,reverting the traditional art theoretically and practically,changing the thousands of years classical art concept and types and leaving great impression on the world art history.And the analytical aesthetics has become an unwinding peak in the history of Western aesthetics.There are still some drawbacks in the analysis of the art concept due to the length of the paper and my lack of sight,but this paper provides a new thought for readers to explore and understand this school and its ideas.Based on many issues left by this school,this paper starts from “art concept” to outline and analyze the underlying changes in the ideas of aestheticians since its establishment.There are three chapters: first one is the brief introduction,beginning from the roots of this school,then analyzing the reasons leading to its prosperity and art concept as its core,and leading to the next chapter.The second chapter is the most important one,focusing on the definition of art and analyzing art concepts of 6most representative aestheticians as well as the artistic work of pioneer art in the1950 s.The third chapter,as the last chapter,reflects on the remaining artistic issues such as the suspension of "the essence of Art","artistic conclusion","the future of art" and "Art self-discipline",his opposition to modern art as a way of breaking down traditional artistic ideas,its "morbid" critique of the postmodern art,and its desire to return to tradition...
