The tobacco epidemic is one of the most serious public health problems in the world. The tobacco epidemic has caused enormous harm to society.Various countries in the world have taken various measures to curb the widespread application of tobacco.Cigarettes packaging, the direct medium for consumers to access cigarettes, has an irreplaceable and important role in encouraging consumers to stay away from cigarettes. The United States,Australia and other countries have printed terror warning pictures on cigarette packaging and introduced standardized cigarette packaging. However,in China, there are no such measures at present and there is very little related research. In this study,a total of 40 participants from two different age groups(adult group and juvenile group)were selected to study the different type of combinations of cigarettes packages and warning labels. It is a two-factor mixed experiment which is designed as 2(smoking status:smoker and non-smoker)X 3(cigarettes packages:familiar cigarette package, unfamiliar cigarette package, standardized cigarette package)X 3(warning labels:text, graphic, text + pictures).Eye movement data(average fixation duration)and reaction time were recorded. The result of the study draw the following conclusions:(1)In both adult group and juvenile group,no matter they smoking or not,the subjects’ eye movement patterns are significantly different when presenting different stimulus materials.(2)In both adult group and juvenile group, smokers and non-smokers respond differently to different stimuli.
