In this paper,the "hole",which is characteristic of ancient Chinese painting,is chosen as the research object.On the one hand,the schema of Chinese painting is embodied in the meaning of the schema and its function in the composition of painting.On the other hand,it is embodied in the contents of the schema and the dual cognitive structure of nature and mind.The schema meaning of "hole" is basically expressed in three aspects: natural archetypes,religious images and hidden culture.As a part of the mountain,the cave is the natural space in nature,and the cave is the earliest living way of the ancients.In later religious culture and esoteric culture,the description of the "hole" constantly appears,also because the hole is often hidden in the mountains and "away from the world." Therefore,although the "hole" is one of the natural forms of nature,but with the water falls,rocks,vegetation,misty haze,the beginning of its appearance in Chinese painting around the human and human activities: on the one hand,in the figure painting,often as the identity and position of the background,on the other hand,in landscape painting,often accompanied by human or human activity trace.The figure content of the "hole" is embodied in the various forms gradually derived from the early symbolized mountain caverns to the Stalactite caverns covered with hanging columns;From the early plane schema,to a deeper sense of multiple spaces;From the caves of nature,to the grottoes of gardens.In addition,there are special forms such as tree holes.With the analysis of the schema meaning and content of "hole" mentioned above,this paper will start from the painting body,combine the text description and the style comparison,and make a preliminary study and a simple classification of the meaning of "hole",and then explore its relation and basis with its own artistic creation.
