| Self-compassion involves being open to and moved by one’s own suffering,experiencing feelings of caring and kindness toward oneself,taking an understanding,nonjudgmental attitude toward one’s inadequacies and failures,and recognizing that one’s own experience is part of the common human experience.Self-compassion is a relatively new field in the positive psychology.This concept was influenced by Buddhist Four Immeasurables,and the technique to improve self-compassion is inspired by Buddhist Loving-kindness meditation.A large number of studies have confirmed the higher theoretical value and applicational value.It has significant relations with many positive emotions,and plays an important role in improving people’s psychological health level,but if self-compassion training could improve comprehensiveness concept of subjective well-being? In other hands,the psychologists have proved Loving-kindness meditation could improve one’s altruism,how could Loving-kindness meditation inspired self-compassion training affect one’s altruism? And if self-compassion has significant relations with subjective well-being,maybe altruism is one of the reasons between two parts.This study combined the way of survey research,quasi-experimental research,it consists of three parts:Firstly,Survey research on 350 university students from four schools of Soochow University,Nanjing Forestry University,Wuhan University,South-central University For Nationalities to investigate students’ self-compassion,altruism,and subjective well-being status and characteristics;Secondly,on the basis of the first study,exploring the relationship between self-compassion,altruism,and subjective well-being,analyzed if altruism was one reason of relationship in self-compassion and subjective well-being;Lastly,on the basis of the second study,with Mindful Self-compassion Training,and the design of random quasi-experimental study to explore that if self-compassion training can improve the subjective well-being and altruism,this research provided an quasi-experimental group and a control group,the quasi-experimental group for six weeks of self-compassion training,while the control group received no treatment.The results of the study show that:(1)University students’ self-compassion and altruism score are in the average level,subjective well-being remains an average and even relatively high level in China.There aren’t significant differences of self-compassion total score on gender,grade,school subjects,region and whether they are the only child of their family,but there are significant differences on some self-compassion dimensions;There aren’t significant differences of altruism score on gender,grade,school subjects,region and whether they are the only child of their family;There aren’t significant differences of subjective well-being total score on gender,grade,school subjects,and whether they are the only child of their family,but region significant affect subjective well-being,and there are significant differences on some subjective well-being dimensions.(2)University students’ self-compassion,altruism,and subjective well-being have positive correlation significently,and altruism is a partial intermediary variable between self-compassion and subjective well-being.(3)Self-compassion training can effectively improve university students’ altruism and subjective well-being. |
