Idealism In The View Of Modernity

As one of the mainstream discourse in the literature narrative field in the early20 th century and the end of the 20 th century,"idealism" is a value concept and ideological tendency to which needs to be attached importance and established in the process of modernity in China."modernity" is a kind of inner spiritual force to which has been paid more attention in the pluralistic dialogue in academic circles in recent years,which promotes the progress of social modernization and exerts great influence on contemporary literature.Therefore,modernity became an inevitable topic of academic discussion in the late 1990 s.Since the 1980 s,with the gradual deepening of reform,the development of modernization,especially in the process of industrialization and commercialization,many social malpractices and the alienation of human nature which appear in the process of modernization have a conflict with the spiritual essence contained in idealism.The power of destruction which negative effect have in the process of modernization has already exceeded people’s resistance to it.Idealism is showing a decline and becoming increasingly prominent under the exclusion of modern materialization and utilitarianism.But even so,the role of idealism in the value guiding as well as critical reflection of modernization certainly exist.The first issue is to reflect on how to regain the idealistic temperament in the current development of modernity and to exert its own social and literary functions.Combined with the presentation of the idealistic value concept in Zhang Wei’s novel creation in different periods,this paper reiterate the literary proposition of "Idealism" under the vision of "modernity" mode to explore Zhang Wei’s different attitudes and ideological changes towards modernity in different periods of novel creation.On the basis of combing the essential attribute of "modernity" and the concrete connotation of "idealism",this paper further discusses problem presentation and causes in the process of modernization development,the value embodiment of "idealism" in literature as well as the relationship between modernity and idealism.This paper aims to promote the healthy development of society and literature under the vision of modernity by means of establishing the value concept of "idealism" in the process of modernization,resisting the negative effect of modernization on the humanistic spirit as well as objectively criticizing modernity.
