A Study On The Identification Of The Chinese Culture In The Ethnic Chinese In Surabaya,Indonesia

The degree of Chinese culture identity of Chinese is always the focus of scholars’ research,and also an important basis for international spread of Chinese culture.This paper takes ethnic Chinese in Surabaya,Indonesia as research subject,and analyses the degree of Chinese cultural identity of the ethnic Chinese in Surabaya,Indonesia through the questionnaire survey.The questionnaire is divided into two parts:basic information part and cultural identity part.The basic information part is mainly to collect the basic information of respondents and their families;the cultural identity part analyzes the Chinese culture of the ethnic Chinese in Surabaya,Indonesia.Recognizing the situation of different genders,generations,ages,ancestral homes,Chinese proficiency,Chinese language usage,and monthly income levels according to cognition,emotion and behavior.It comes to the following conclusions:The overall level of the Chinese cultural identity of the ethnic Chinese in Surabaya,Indonesia is above average,and the relationship among the three factor is:emotion>cognition>behavior.Different genders have different levels of Chinese cultural identity——males’ are higher than females’.Different generations have a great influence on the degree of Chinese cultural identity——the higher the algebra,the lower the identity of Chinese culture.Different ages of the ethnic Chinese have different levels of identity of Chinese culture——the lowest level is the Chinese ethnicity between the ages of 36 and 50.The main factors affecting the identification of Chinese culture of the ethnic Chinese in Surabaya are Chinese level and the use of Chinese.The higher the level of Chinese,the higher the level of Chinese culture,and the more often Chinese is used,the higher their degree of Chinese cultural identity.Their ancestral homeland and monthly income are not the major factors affecting the Chinese cultural identity of the ethnic Chinese.The article analyzes the Chinese cultural identity of the ethnic Chinese in Surabaya,Indonesia from history,culture,status in quo,etc.,and explores the main reasons that influence the Chinese cultural identity of the ethnic Chinese.And the article puts forward specific opinions and suggestions based on the conclusions to make ethnic Chinese in Surabaya,Indonesia have better lives and continue to maintain their Chinese cultural identity in order to help them serve the dialogue between Indonesia and China,and strengthen the function as a bridge between Indonesia and China.
