| From late May to early June in 2017,three musical professors from Western Oregon University(WOU),U.S.were invited to teach the students of musicology 2014,2015 and 2016 in GXAU.The lessons mainly lied in Broadway musical,piano performance and the history of western music.Recommended by a professor of Foreign Languages College,Guangxi University,the author,together with the other three partners,was hired to interpret for the three professors in class.With the guidance from his supervisor and the help from the teachers of GXAU,the author successfully accomplished this task.This report will analyze the task with the written materials and the recording of the interpreting.And it will also turn to translation theories to analyze specific interpreting cases in the interpretation.This report consists of five parts.Part Ⅰ introduces the background information of this task.Part Ⅱ mainly analyzes the task and presents the preparation for this task.Part Ⅲ is case study by applying Danie1 Gile’s Effort Model and Christiane Nord’s Skopos Theory.In this part,specific interpreting skills and the roles of the interpreter will be discussed under the circumstances of regular teaching form and the form of master class.Part Ⅳ is the reflection of the author himself,the evaluation of the client and the feedback of the three professors and the students.Part Ⅴ is the conclusion of this report. |
