| This paper is based on the the author’s experience of providing interpreting services on the occasion of business negotiation of Nippon Express(Shenzhen)CO.,LTD in Nanning Comprehensive Bonded Zone on June 13th,2017.This paper is about the analysis and reflection of the interpreting assignment including task description,pre-interpreting preparations,case study,post-interpreting evaluation and conclusion.Task description gives a brief introduction about the background of the business negotiation and interpreting process.Chapter 2 comprehensively presents the pre-interpreting preparation with priority given to thematic knowledge buildup,technical terminology accumulation,psychological adjustment process and on-the-spot preparation in order to lay a foundation for the fruitful outcomes of the task.In case study,the author lays out the three main difficulties she met in the interpreting process involving terminology,language logics and the role of an interpreter.Then she conducts deep analyses of the above issues under the guidance of Grice’s Cooperative Principle and its four maxims.In the meanwhile,the author puts forward corresponding coping strategies.At last,the author assesses the gains and losses of this interpreting practice using Grice’s Cooperative Principle and its four maxims as a standard.Besides,she concludes the following interpreting strategies:literal interpreting,liberal interpreting,omitting and summarizing interpreting.This paper aims to enhance the author’s professional level through reflection on the interpreting task.It is also expected to provide cases and inspirations for interpreters in business negotiation and logistics. |
