2017 Global Automotive AI Conference Interpreting Practice Report

This interpreting practice report is based on the author’s interpreting work at the 2017 Global Automotive AI Conference.Based on the theoretical support from the perspective of Deverbalization,this article elaborates on the critical prominent difficulties encountered in interpreting process.The main difficulties encountered include grasping logical cohesion of the source language and understanding of terminology,and the author comes up with corresponding solutions of conducting sentence pattern transformation through deverbalization,and interpreting terms into authentic English through deverbalization.In the report,the author has also conducted a professional analysis on the interpreting activities taken in the view of a qualified interpreter in accordance with standard modes and requirements of interpreting preparations.Starting from the source of interpreting activities,preparations before interpretation,on-site situation of interpreting,and the later customer feedback to make a textual summary.The author hopes to provide references for interpreting learners who will devote to this field in the future,or constructive enlightenment and better career planning advice to present-day students who are studying translation major in China.
