The "non-directional" verb is a small class of verbs that are divided into"directions".Although the research of directional verbs is gradually formed,there is still a gap in the study of "non-directional" verbs.Therefore,this paper choose the non-directional verbs in a single syllable as the research object,based on the theory of modern Chinese grammar and cognitive linguistics to analyses its syntactic?semantic and displacement events.Chapter one is an introduction including research purpose and significance,subjects and content,research method,the corpus sources,and the current status of predecessors.Chapter two mainly studies semantic features,through the example analysis of the research on what we don't limit the semantics of directional verbs,and refine their core semantic features,the difference between the displacement and metaphorical meaning.Chapter three mainly studies the syntactic collocation.first is the main object of the type,second is the relationship.Chapter four mainly studies the displacement events.First the the trend verb and analyzed its implied meaning.Second the path-bearing verbs and analyzed the degree of their integration.Third the prepositions and how they are pointedThe conclusion in the end makes a sweeping generalization of the thesis main content,point out its shortages in the meantime.
