Women's Escape From Oppression In Runaway From The Perspective Of Female Psychoanalysis

Alice Munro,winner of the contemporary Canadian Nobel Prize for literature,whose writing style is simple and plain,portrays the true and beautiful life in a delicate and authentic way.It brings a truly emotional experience to people.Simple words are rich in emotion and life.Many commentators have compared her to Faulkner and O'Connor who write about life in the South of the United States.The American Jewish writer Cynthia Ozick even regards Monroe as “Contemporary Chekhov” and says she can be called “the greatest of contemporary time”.In her works,the description of women is very nuanced,so that people feel the ordinary women's role in the common life.Alice Munro's works are full of feminism,and people continue to analyze Alice Munro's works from the perspective of feminism and give her great affirmation.Runaway has attracted much attention of the public.It has been a great success since the novel was published.The characters of the Munro's novels are mostly feminism.In the novel,there are girls who want to run away from the family,women who were married and then eloped,women teachers who are single and worried,and nurses who are quiet and sweet.They have their own emotional experience and exploration.In their stories,readers can feel the inner world of women and their own unique female charm.As a disadvantaged group,women are often subjected to multiple oppressions of family and society.Women themselves have their psychological characteristics and their psychological changes.Therefore,they will constantly change their psychological models due to family,society,and marriage.This article is based on the theory of female psychoanalysis of Helene Deutsch,taking the English version of Runaway as the research text.From various angles,this article explores the psychological changes of women after being subjected to various pressures and analyses how to get rid of stress to get female freedom in this paper.The first part is introduction.This part mainly introduces Alice Munro's life,major works,artistic features and research status of Monroe's works at home and abroad.By expounding the prominence of her female characters,it points out that the importance of analyzing the work of Runaway from the perspective of female psychoanalysis.The second part is the main part,which consists of four parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the connection between the female and psychoanalysis,and introduces the theory of female psychoanalysis of Helene Deutsch whose theory of female psychoanalysis divides female psychology into four stages,pre-puberty,early puberty,puberty,and motherhood.And the psychological changes and characteristics of women in each period are introduced clearly.The second chapter mainly focuses on the psychological analysis of the female after they have suffered from men.Among them there is psychological analysis of the female after pressure from husbands,the psychological analysis of the female after pressure from fathers,and the psychological analysis of the female after pressure from male employers.They are separately discussed.Because of women's own psychological characteristics and psychological changes,sometimes they need a person to achieve their own identification and change their identification in different psychological stages.Her identification may be father or husband.However,after being oppressed by men,women would question or change this identification.The third chapter analyzes the psychological characteristics of women from the perspective of psychological analysis of women after getting pressure from other women.The discussion of this chapter is divided into two parts.The first part analyzes the psychological changes of women who are under pressure,and the second part analyzes the psychological reasons why women are oppressed by others.Women's identification targets are sometimes women,such as taking mothers or female friends around them to be their identification.While taking other women as their identification,women themselves will also give women certain psychological pressure,such as excessive desire for control and excessive expectations of the object of recognition.For example,the desire of the mother to control her daughter will throw psychological pressure on her daughter,which makes women be caught in pressure again from the same gender.The fourth chapter explores the reasons why these women have psychological pressure in the story from two perspectives.The first is from the economic view.These unfortunate women all have some kind of economic dependency,which makes them unable to change the results of their previous false identification.The second is from the perspective of the psychological view.These unfortunate women are spiritually dependent and do not have their complete spiritual life.Therefore,they will rely on their own identification people and there will be problems such as emptiness,boredom and anxiety.Thus,the two main reasons why women are regarded as a weak group and easily have psychological pressure on their identity are economic dependence and spiritual dependence.Women who are not economically independent cannot live on their own,which makes women lose the ability to resist oppression.Women who are spiritually dependent sometimes have the ability to learn to stay away from stress under conditions of economic ability,but because of their dependence on others,they are also reluctant to choose resistance,and further explore how women can get rid of the oppression from society and marriage,and how to achieve real female freedom and happiness.It is mainly divided into two parts.The first part explains the importance of women's economic independence and discusses how women can achieve economic independence.The second perspective elaborates the importance of women's spiritual independence and the ways that women can achieve spiritual independence.Only by achieving these two independence women are truly a complete social person,then they can successfully resist oppression and get rid of psychological pressure,and to succeed as psychologically free women.The last part is the conclusion.This part mainly summarizes the discussion,and points out the main purpose of this paper.Women will have different psychological states at different stages,and choose different objects to identify,so as to achieve their own psychological development.In identification,women tend to rely on their identification objects,and even create conditions to unconditionally obey them,which will make them suffer psychological pressure.This requires women to get rid of psychological pressure and realize their true independence and freedom.Women's liberation from psychological pressure is mainly from two aspects,namely,economic independence and spiritual independence.Economic independence enables women get rid of psychological stress,and spiritual independence gives women the courage to choose and change.These two independences give women a basis for acknowledging and re-identifying before negating women's psychological freedom and happiness.At present,the psychological well-being of women is getting more and more attention of the whole society.Therefore,women's economic independence and spiritual independence are more important,and they become the guarantee of women's psychological well-being.
