| Climate change is not only a scientific issue,but also a political issue with global influence.This study report is based on the E-C translation practice of the third part of The Politics of Climate Change,which is a comment on the construction of China’s climate change.Due to the importance and necessity of the translation on the text about climate change politics,the author chooses this book as the text of translating practice.In the report,three methods including literature search,case study and qualitative research are employed to contribute to a quality research and a better research report.Also,Nida’s theory of Functional Equivalence is chosen as the theoretical guidance.By analyzing and summarizing the experiences and lessons in the translation of climate change politics,the author has concluded that Nida’s theory of Functional Equivalence is the most appropriate theory for the translation of climate change politics,because the function of this kind of text calls for fidelity to the original.Under the guidance of the theory,the author has mainly employed the literal translation and occasionally the combination of literal translation and free translation in lexical translation and syntactic translation in order to render a faithful and satisfactory translation.Meanwhile,such translation methods including anaphora,substitution and omission are also proved effective in the translation of this type of text. |
