The Research Of English-chinese Translation Work Of International Sports Posts In Taiwan Area

The main research of this thesis is about the characteristics,current situation and development of English to Chinese translation work of international sports posts in Taiwan area.The languages of both sides origin the same,but they differ in various fields,from the newspapers,books,radio,TV programs to daily oral language.Similarly,those differences also can be seen in the process of English to Chinese translation.This kind of translation with the characteristics of Taiwan itself has great research value.Taking the international sports posts as the linguistic data,the writer lay the key point on the characteristics and differences and it’s reasons,in order to discuss the current situation and development orientation of sports translation.The above questions will be discussed in four chapters.First chapter is the introduction part,which is divided into four parts,mainly about selected topic reasons,reflects the current research status of the research objects,including those theoretical foundation and related research recognized in the academic world.Based on the above basis for integration of contrast reflects,breakthrough and innovation point of this study.Explain the research methods including research theory which is applied to.Chapter two is the process of the research,Through the diachronic study of international sports events in Taiwan,and take the development of the English translation field in the Taiwan region as the background of the study,explore the development status and characteristics of the English-Chinese translation of international sports events in the Taiwan area,discovers the major problems and proposes corresponding solutions.And then is the core part of this thesis----the study of the characteristics of English-Chinese translation of international sporting event posters,list the features of Taiwan international sporting event poster,including English abbreviations,English propaganda slogans,etc.and the differences in the translation of posters on the two sides of the Taiwan straits,including the project,terms,people’s names and place names.Chapter 3 is the result of the research.According to those above,explore the main reasons for the differences in Taiwan’s history background,culture and education,folk customs and other aspects.Finally,chapter 4 is the conclusion of the study,about some characteristics and findings of this study and some views from the writer after research and thinking.Taiwan has its unique translation charm and special translation method in the international sporting event poster.In the language,Taiwan is more vivid in the translation of international sports posters.From the perspective of etymology,in addition to the fixed acronyms used in Taiwan and mainland China,some temporary contractions are also used in the poster translation.In terms of loanwords,Taiwan translators prefer to transliteration with liberal translation.As to the reasons for the differences between the two sides of the straits,in addition to analyze the reason from the language standard differences,rhetoric select material and the analyzable difference of disyllabic or polysyllabic word,this article should take the perspective of language external,such as history and culture,the humanities customs into consideration.Study on the characteristics of the poster of Taiwan international sports events,it reveals that Taiwan has added a lot of local characteristic elements in terms of choice words and form layout,which makes it more vivid and attractive.However,partial translation also slightly deviates from internationalization,lack of standardization.This has become one of the factors which is not conducive to the translation of international sports events in Taiwan.
