A Translation Report On An Excerpt Of International Encyclopedia Of Education

With the rapid development of society,education has become increasingly important.Although China has established various ways to cultivate talents,some foreign educational mechanisms are still worth learning from,and the education encyclopedic literature is a good selection for reference.International Encyclopedia of Educationintroducesthe education systems in various countries,the development of different kinds of education and the prospect of educational research.It possesses a relatively high translation value and reference value.The material of this translation report is excerpted from the third volume of International Encyclopedia of Education.It introduces education of professionals in pharmacy,nursing,veterinary and educational field experimentation.In the translation report,the author selectsthe Skopos theory as the theoretical guidance,and analyzes the text type and linguistic features of the source text according to the text classification of the Skopos theory.Based on the characteristics of informative text,the author exploreshow to use omission,amplification,division,and conversion as translation methods to do translation practice.In the course of practice,the author has gained valuable translation experience of informative text,and she hopes that the translation project will provide some references for the related education fields.
