From The Buddhism Scripture To Bianwen:Discussion On The Xiangmo Bianwen In The Literature

The Dunhuang document Xiangmo Bianwen,produced earlier,has many signs that manifest that this text had passed many people's hands for many times,become a desk reading,gradually formed what can see today.In the process of the spreading,the bianwen in general is more literary and secular.On the basis of creating by many people for many times,tracing the story content sources of this bianwen,it is not hard to find that,from the Buddhism scripture to bianwen,Xiangmo Bianwen,as China's folk telling and singing literature,has greatly changed in the story of Sariputta conquering demons in the Buddhism scripture.On the basis of reading the relevant Chinese translation of buddhist scriptures,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the image of Sariputta and Sudatta.The research is mainly concerned with their Chinese translations of names and its sources,their family background,the iii karma with shakyamuni Buddha and the merits helping Buddhism to enlighten all beings,or the outstanding contribution to Buddhism.Based on the archetypal characters in the buddhist scriptures,this paper analyzes the literary evolution of the characters in the bianwen,and interprets the literary image of Sariputta and Sudatta as distinct from the archetypal buddhist scriptures.In the bianwen,the image of Sariputta is contradictory and complex,which not only reflects the literalization and secularization of the classic image of Sariputta,but also provides evidences for the bianwen of creating by many people.However,the image of Sudatta is vivid,and it is separated from the classic image presented in the buddhist scripture,goes to the image of the manister in the classical Chinese society.At the same time,comparing the differences between the related buddhist stories and Xiangmo Bianwen context,this paper analyzes the evolution of the narrative literature of the bianwen.The evolution of this literary character is mainly embodied in the following: combining the rhyme and song,the speech is clear;the speakers have a strong sense of character;the scene painting and scene rendering are extremely graphic;the narrative order is deftly adjusted,and the key points are highlighted,then the psychological changes of the characters are paid attention;it goes to Indian law content and closes to Chinese tradition.
