A Study Of Students’ Publication Weili Of Xiamen Universitv During Changting Period

The outbreak of the July 7th Incident in 1937 marked the beginning of the Chinese nation’s all-out anti-Japanese war.Xiamen University,which is located in the forefront of the southeast,was forced to relocate to Changting,a city in the west of Fujian The university began its eight-year hardships of teaching.At the important juncture of the nation’s peril,the Xiamen University students kept in mind the mission of the young students,committed themselves to the anti-Japanese national salvation activities,and founded the anti-Japanese propaganda joumal "Weili" to contribute to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.This thesis uses the first,second,and third volumes of Weili from the exclusive library of Xiamen University as the first-hand data,adopts a literature review method,and provides a basic study overview of the publication Weili,the theme content of the victory against the war and how it mobilized local people to participate in the anti-war.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the body is divided into three chapters,which are discussed separately as follows:The first chapter mainly discusses the background of the publication,the purpose of the publication,the set-up of the columns and its mission.Weili was founded by the student salvation service group consisting of students from Xiamen University.It was bom on the outbreak of the full-scale war of resistance and the relocation of Xiamen University.It aims to promote anti-Japanese war and sets up columns around the war of resistance to shoulder the responsibility of encouraging people to participate in the war of resistance and carrying out the mission.The second chapter mainly discusses the subject matter of the publication Weili:the victory in the anti-Japanese war.Weili actively promoted the belief that the war of resistance must win,through advocating the government’s war on resistance policy,analyzing the future of the war,and strengthening the people’s resistance to victory in war,while exposing Japan’s invasion of China,inciting the people to resist the enemy’s enthusiasm to join the flood of resistance and lay the foundation for the victory of the war.The third chapter is about the publication Weili and the local community.Weili aims to publicize and mobilize the people to fight against the war.It mobilizes the people in a way that organizes the people and educates the people,and pays attention to publicizing the industrial cooperation and the rear grain production support,and emphasizes the importance of strengthening production and supporting the anti-Japanese war.Concluding remarks,based on the basic analysis and main contents of the publication Weili,the author further summarizes the historical significance and research value of Xiamen University under the background of the national anti-Japanese war.
