The creation of animation art needs to draw on various artistic elements, and different artistic elements and creation methods will reflect its own different historical background and cultural deposits. In China, the time-honored history and culture of Chinese civilization for 5,000 years have provided continuous nutrition for Chinese animation. As early as the tang dynasty, when the engraving printing was invented, there appeared printmaking works.Prints in the Ming dynasty are of great importance in the history of printing in China and even in the world. The brilliant achievements of prints in the Ming dynasty are embodied in the illustrations of novels and operas.Famous works such as west wing, water margin, peony pavilion, etc. It is these classics that provide inspiration for the creation of animation. In my opinion,it is an organic combination of classical national art and modern art to combine the Ming dynasty printmaking art with the animation creation with the flavor of Chinese classical culture. This paper discusses how to apply the art of engraving and painting in Ming dynasty to the actual creation of animation through the elaboration of the creation and practical exploration of animation.
