As an important part of the Silk Road,the Zhangye Section of the Han and Tang Silk Road played an important role in history.The south,north,and third lines of the Silk Road converge in Zhangye,which is the basis for the exchange between China and the West,military recruitment,and commodity circulation.There are many famous ancient sites along the Silk Road in Zhangye.The road and sites along the Zhangye section are the witnesses of Zhangye's historical and cultural development and the bearer of its connotation.It has high historical and humanistic value,archaeological research value,natural ecological value and so on.Based on the systematic quotation of literature on the roads and sites along the Han and Tang dynasties in Zhangye area,and the extensive absorption of previous relevant research results,the paper makes a study of the Zhangye area.The site of Han and Tang dynasties was combed and the location of representative counties along the route was investigated to restore the Zhangye section of the Silk Road during the Han and Tang dynasties.There are three lines on the Zhangye section of the Han and Tang dynasties,one is along the main line of the east and west distribution of the the Great Wall in the Han Dynasty,the other is the Bian du Kou Branch Road,and the third one is the Juyan Road.Through comparison,it is found that there was no great change in the direction of the Zhangye section of the Han and Tang dynasties.Basic flow along the river,oasis distribution.There are only 8 sections of the Han the Great Wall site along the ancient road in Zhangye,including 7 sections in Shandan County and 1 section in Ganzhou District.There are 65 Fengsui sites,including 24 in Shandan County,10 in Minle County,14 in Ganzhou District,11 in Linze County and 4 in Gaotai County.Han and Tang sites exist 21 sites,including 3 in Shandan County,5 in Minle County,2 in Ganzhou District,6 in Gaotai County and 5 in Sunan County.Seven of them are the national key cultural relics protection units as provincial key cultural relics protection units.Zhangye section of the road along a total of 9 Han-Tang religious sites,7 for grottoes,2 temples.Through on-the-spot investigation,the site along the road in Zhangyesection will be reclaimed.According to the current administrative divisions,the distribution of the Great Wall,Feng Sui,city sites and grotto monasteries along the Zhangye section of the Han and Tang dynasties were found to have their own characteristics,but most of them were located in convenient transportation.A land in which natural conditions are superior.The relationship between the road and the site along the road: the site is the support of the road extension,and the road is the link between the sites.According to the investigation data,it is concluded that the natural factors affecting the road path and site selection along the route are oasis,the distribution of rivers,social factors such as the level of administrative division of Zhangye in Han and Tang dynasties,the military defense system,the exchange activities between China and the West,etc.As a result of a large number of immigrants and excessive reclamation caused by river diversion,oasis desertification,and then abandoned the city site.The development of road traffic in Zhangye section is an important part of the development of Zhangye city.It is helpful to further study the relationship between Zhangye road trend and city site selection in the historical period by studying the relationship between the Zhangye section road and the sites along it.It is helpful to promote the effective protection and rational development and utilization of ancient roads and sites along the route.It has educational and tourism value,thus promoting the development of local economy and society.
