Research On The Realistic Style Of Li Ruijun's Of Film

Li Ruijun is a budding Chinese film director who has repeatedly won awards in major film festivals in recent years.His new work,“Passing the Future” released at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017 and became part of the “A Kind of Concern” unit has been paid wider attention.In addition,he also relates the plight of ordinary local people in the lens language with a realistic narrative style in the films “Mr.Old Donkey,” “Tell them,I Went Away by the White Crane,” and “Home in the Place with luxuriant Waterweeds” he directed.His works usually presents his critical attitude towards the invasion of modernization against spiritual home by adhering to the creative concept of realism.These works not only reflect his homesick nostalgia,but also differentiate him from most commercial film directors in the aesthetic orientation in the current movie market,thus conveying his reflection on real life.This paper,with his four films as the research texts,makes a comprehensive interpretation on Li Ruijun's works from the realism style.It is divided into five parts.The introduction part presents the relevant background of the research and the definition of related concepts.The first chapter reviews and summarizes Li's creation process and the contents of the four films studied in this paper in chronological order.The second chapter focuses on the analysis on the realism narrative features and techniques of his films,such as the application of lens language and the presentation of narrative concept.In the third chapter,the representations of space in Li's films,such as social interaction and symbolism are analyzed so as to expound the meaning of the selection of fixed space in the films.In the fourth chapter,based on the textual study on Li's films in the previous parts,the realism aesthetic expression in Li's films is obtained,the contemporary meaning implied in these films and the creation concepts of humanistic concern and insistence on localization in the works are expounded.In this paper,with Li Ruijun's four films as the vehicle,the narrative features,spatial expression and aesthetic expression of these films are analyzed from the keynote of realism with introspection,so as to make a comprehensive review on Li Ruijun's films and to further illustrate the realism style in his works.
