Yang Xianhui's documentary novels The Annals of the Jia Bian Gou and The Annals of Orphanage in Ding Xi are devoted to make a collection of the witnesses' memories,focusing on the starvation writing,arousing many readers,attention.And also the inspiration that breaks through the dilemma for contemporary documentary novel is provided.The reference of oral expression,the application of the perspective and the application of reliable narration reflect the Yang Xianhui's writing art which is focused on the experience of individual's starvation.Therefore,the thesis is mainly divided into the following four parts:The first chapter mainly explores the psychological impetus of the starvation writing in Yang Xianhui's documentary novels.It is found that the following three parts are most prominent psychological impetus in starvation writing:the need to express the starvation memory,the drive to discover the truth of famine as well as the appeal to respect the individual's life.The second chapter mainly discusses how to reference the expression of dictation in the Yang Xianhui's starvation writing.First of all,the paper explores the characteristics that the oral record is close to reality from historical writing tradition and modern presentation.And then,the paper explores the representation of the oral record in the text,that is to say,a natural presentation of dictators' language and a temperate expression of recorders' language.Finally,the life writing in oral record is discussed,revealing the survival state of hungry individuals by dictating and presenting the tragic death of individual life in extreme starvation.The third chapter mainly analyzes the application of the perspective of the starvation writing in Yang Xianhui's documentary novels.This chapter is introduced from external perspective,internal perspective and the transformation of perspective.First of all,the paper analyzes the retrospective perspective used in the first person narration,effectively showing psychic authenticity of the hunger individual.Secondly,the paper discusses the limited perspective of the third person narration based on the witnesses,which shows the soul of the hungry individual and also adds a dispassion.Finally,the paper explores the deep implication of the trauma restoration in the context of the post-disaster by analyzing the transformation from the perspective of the seeker to the perspective of the witnesses of starvation.The fourth chapter discusses the application of the reliable narration of the starvation writing in Yang Xianhui's documentary novels,that is to say,including how the author skillfully passing on the ethical content.First of all,the author analyzes the hidden worries of the non-witnesses'intervention and the necessity of using reliable narration.Then,the paper discusses that Yang Xianhui realizes the moderate intervention to the text via reliable narration subtly conveying the ethical content,which is mainly manifested as the restricted narration,the convergent narration and the application of the mask narration.Finally,the paper explores the auxiliary strategies based on the ethical dimension,that is to say,the character narrator following the voluntary principle,fading the special identity of the character,and adopting the suspending,blank and summary for the "unnarratable".Thus,the ethical tendency of implied author is conveyed.
