A Study Of Yan Lianke's Literary Criticism

Yan Lianke is one of the most successful writers in the history of Chinese contemporary literature.With the popularity of novels both overseas and at home,Yan Lianke carried out the practice of literary criticism with rich content and distinct levels.Yan Lianke's practice of literary criticism inherited the common characteristics of writer's criticism and formed his own unique style in the process of practice.From the perspective of Thibaudet's “Critical Physiology”,this thesis generalized Yan Lianke's achievements in three aspects of the form of appreciating texts,the study of literary phenomena and the construction of theoretical ideas from the perspectives of unique critical characteristics,system of magical realism theory and critical functions.Yan Lianke's literary criticism adopts the form of informal essay.Taking the aesthetic nature of literature as the fundamental attribute of literary criticism,and the creativity as the ultimate pursuit of literary criticism,Yan forms his own unique literary view-Magical realism.The construction of magical realism theory is a major milestone achievement in the practice of Yan Lianke's literary criticism.It is an extension and development of realism in the new social and historical environment of twenty-first Century.On the basis of the basic relationship of “experience and truth” in realism,Yan Lianke breaks through the shackles of traditional realism with the key words of truth and causality,and forms a unique view of reality,causality and criticism.In literary criticism,Yan Lianke uses a kind of discourse form that is different from literary creation,which shows his aesthetic thoughts,cultural thoughts and social thoughts from the three aspects of the exploration of literary experience,the return of local spirit and the criticism of social reality,and practically practise the critical function of "breaking the slander and telling the truth".
